The Art of the Brick is an excellent Lego experience for all ages. It was so good I would recommend it to anyone.
The first photo is of me standing right outside where the exhibition starts. It’s on Brick Lane, which is funny.

The Art of the Brick is amazing artworks all made out of Lego. The pieces of art can also be any size from incredibly large to smaller than me.
Nathan Sawaya was the artist of all of the pieces. He didn’t go to art college. He just wanted to be creative. He couldn’t do more expensive art because his family didn’t have much money so he used Lego instead.

He couldn’t study art so he became a lawyer even though he still wanted to be an artist. Then after being a lawyer he decided to be an artist again instead.
The art makes you feel very welcome to play Lego and it makes you want to make art out of Lego instead of cars. When we got home we decided to make a bit of Lego art ourselves. So I made a hand playing darts.
At the Art of the Brick there was a working Lego cello and a huge pencil, a giraffe, huge chess pieces and a life-sized swimmer.

I liked the traffic lights where the green, amber and red were made out of faces. It was a favourite and the grey bits looked like a bonnet.

People climbing inside other people was maybe to make you think that you are the doorway to new things. It shows that you can make friends easily.

Incomplete … this was one I liked because you were able to see inside it and see the construction of the whole artwork. It’s also very large. It was interesting to see how he had made them all hollow.
Nathan Sawaya made actual artworks out of Lego. The Mona Lisa was good. It was pixellated like a bad photo on an old phone. It was like the Shakespeare Lego picture in a different post

The Scream was good. I liked it and The Kiss. Beside every artwork there was a brick count where it would tell you how many bricks were used in that piece.

There was also a room where they put items into actual photos to make them more interesting and make them look real.

There was a room full of Lego skulls and it looked infinite because every single part was mirrored so it would reflect and reflect and reflect all the skulls. It was only a small corridor really.

When we got home we also made artwork out of Lego that was inspired by a picture in the gallery. Mine was called Want To Play Darts? It is a hand in a red glove holding a dart.

Rowan said: “I think I will always remember that it made me think about toys in a different way and made you feel that you could build anything out of Lego.”

PHOTOS: By me and mum this time.

Brick Lane

Here is Brick Lane where the exhibition was. It had graffiti on the walls and there was a Broccoli Lane too. It was the first time I liked graffiti because it looked like art and a lot of funny creatures.
